After Thoughts On Our Photo Shoot

Look at those cute scrunched noses:)

When I posted our family photos I felt a little frustrated that we didn't look like the perfect, matching, fashionable, gap catalog worthy family. I have since had time to do a little cleaning..and when I clean I think:) If our photos turned out perfectly then it wouldn't be "our family." I close my eyes in pics and Kirk sticks his tongue out. That's who we are and I love him for that silly face. My girls are girls. They squint because the sun is too bright and they complain when they are freezing and that's who they are and I love them:) So...I decided to post a few more pics...pics that show who we really are like in the above pic 2 of us closed our eyes;) lol

This set of photos isn't "perfect" but, it more closely represents our family:)
Stay Fashionable! Love, Candy

  1. I totally know how you feel and I need to be better at having an attitude like yours. It's OK if they aren't perfect pictures b/c that's who they are and I love them anyway. You put it perfectly!

  2. I have actually thought about this quite a bit because I am frequently disappointed with photos of us. I have realized that it isn't that I am wanting perfect pictures necessarily, but that I want pictures that perfectly capture the beauty and the personalities that I love so much. I want to be able to see all the things that I love about them at that age so that I won't ever forget what it was like. Sometimes it is hard to get all that from a two dimensional image. I love these more candid shots and I think they turned out fine. It was a minor miracle that you got any pics of Kirk without his tongue out ;) that alone makes it worthwhile!

  3. Heather you really hit the nail on the head. It's the idea of capturing my family the way I see them. That just can't happen in a 4x6 glossy;)

  4. I know what you mean about Kirk sticking his tongue out- Cory refuses to smile at all, and just looks surly. Curse those Allen boys! But they turned out great anyway, and you don't want your family to look like some pretend "Gap Catalog" family- a little personality is exactly what you want!
