Outfit and A Cheat Treat

This is what I wore to our Church Relief Society Christmas Party.
Relief Society is a Women's organization in our church.
It was a Spiritual Evening to help us prepare to Celebrate Christmas
and it's TRUE meaning.

The Emebellished sweater was another Kohls find.
Clearance about $10.
The glittery black flats Target about $10
Maurices jeans $12

Bracelets: Candies for Kohls Clearance about $4
Ring: shop in the mall about $2

I'm starting to realize that I wear a lot of gray and black.
A pop of red or turquoise would be great for this outfit.
I could've added some color with earrings, shoes, bracelets, or a handbag.

Onto THE CHEAT TREAT.
We were supposed to bring our favorite Christmas Treat.
I heart Christmas sugar cookies! But didn't have time to make them.

So, here is the Cheat in my Treat.

I went to Kroger and bought a container of 18 plain sugar cookies $3.

Frosted them with a can of Buttercream Frosting.

Added some Christmas sprinkles from my cabinet.
Added some Christmas toothpicks I picked up at Hobby Lobby.
Reg. 1.99 a pkg. on sale for 50%off.

Voila! A platter of yummy and cute Christmas sugar cookies that were quick and easy.
My Cheat is that I sometimes buy items at the super market bakery
and embellish them to make them my own;)

If anyone asks I do fess up to the Cheat.
I am honest. I just don't like to spend a lot of time in the kitchen;)

Have you ever made a cheat treat?

Outfit Inspired by Christmas Tree

Our Family Room has a lot of blues and silvers for Christmas.
I let the color scheme from my Christmas Decorations
Inspire the color palette for this outfit.

Gray Lace Dress: $18 from Kohls
Gray Boots: $25 from Target
Black Blazer: $30 Super Sale I LOVE how tailored this
jacket looks and fits. A great investment for a Wardrobe Staple.
Black Leggings, Scarf, Black Bracelets and sparkly earrings: I've had forever and a day.
Flower Pin : $3 Vintage
Ring: Gift

I really don't know that I would've thought about putting a bright blue with gray and black.
I really was Inspired by my Christmas Tree and Decorations.

Now that I've tried it ....I REALLY LOVE IT!

What do you think about this color combo?

Look around your home and see what colors and textures inspire you.
You just might be surprised:)

I LOVE this pin. It goes with so many things.
I've even pinned it to a headband and worn it in my hair.
Pins are great like that. They can be worn so many different ways.

Lastly, my FAVORITE gray boots! I seriously get so many
"Where did you find those?"
and
"Those are too cute."

Target $25!! I'm telling you, Target rocks when it comes to great Clearance
deals on shoes and boots!!
They have these boots again this year for $45.

Let me know what you think about this color combo.
Also, where do you look for color inspiration? I'd love to hear it:)

Festive Fashions For A Christmas Home

This is the piano in our Family Room.
Our Family Room is blue. I like having blue and silver to decorate in there. I REALLY love Apothecary jars with inexpensive Christmas balls, candies, or other holiday goodies:)

This is our blue and silver Christmas tree. Complete with silver snowflakes. I love a pretty snowflake!

This is one of the 1st Nativities I ever bought. It's wooden and VERY child friendly! It has survived all 3 of my girls. The sheep have tiny teeth marks to prove it! It didn't come with
a stable. I bought this little one at Wal-Mart for about $5.

This is a 2nd child friendly Nativity. I made it at a church Super Saturday Craft Activity.
It was pretty simple and I just love their simple sweet faces. It's just fabric, felt, and stuffing.

This is how I decorated my "faux" mantel. In case you missed it....It's really a bed headboard that I got for $2 at a local thrift store.
I found the cute Merry Banner free printable online. You can find it on my free Christmas Printables pinterest board.

PINTEREST IS AMAZING!!

This is the glass hurricane that graces our Family Room Dining Table.
Very inexpensive. You could use just about any vase or jar and fill it with little ornaments.
Looks expensive but it really isn't!! Does it get any better than that?

Above my kitchen sink. I don't really like the heart cutouts in my black shelf.
I just haven't found a replacement yet.
I do love the jingle bell tree though. This would be a pretty simple craft project.

Traditional Christmas book's basket.
We might gift wrap them all and use them as an advent count down.
Open 1 book a night until Christmas.

Finally, this is our entertainment center in our Living Room.
I have a couple of decorations in our bathroom too.
I'll spare you the pics!

If you'd like to see my Christmas Gift Wrap Station or Hot Chocolate Bar..just check my previous posts:)

Christmas Gift Wrap Station & Hot Chocolate Bar

I usually spend hours hunched over on the floor wrapping gifts. Back ache and all;) I've always wanted a Cute Christmas gift wrap Station. This year I DID IT! I turned our living room dining table into a gift wrap station. We eat our family meals at our dining table in our family room. So we won't miss this table for 1 month.
Wow! Note to self...Iron that wrinkly table cloth!!

I used a red table cloth that I already had and went to work. I used small Christmas boxes I got last year on Clearance to hold items like my gift tags, and ribbon, tape, scissors, and pens.

I like to wrap my gifts with fun little surprises attached. Here is how I organized my bells and cookie cutters. I mean really...who wouldn't want a jingle bell or Christmas Cookie Cutter attached to their gift;)
I used a glass ceramic bowl I already had for the cookie cutters. The bells are in the bottom of a 2 tiered fruit holder I already had.

Here is a better look at the end of the table with tags, bells, more ribbons and cookie cutters.
I also bought pretty glitter snowflakes to tie to my packages this year.

This is the only thing I bought to organize my station.
This is a $5 trash can from Wal-Mart. It holds all gift boxes, gift bags, tissue paper, and can also hold rolls of wrapping paper. I love that I can stand to wrap gifts and all of my fun and functional items are at my fingertips. I am ready to WRAP!
Total Cost of Gift Wrap Station $5

Here is a 2nd look at our Hot Chocolate Bar.
Cocoa Packets, Chocolate Covered Cookie Sticks, and Marshmallows.
Yummy!
I'm still planning to add some candy canes and mint truffle hershey kisses.

Don't you just love this adorable snowman mug?
This hot cocoa bar was put together with things I already had in my home.
Total Cost: FREE

Now....what are you waiting for? Go make yourself a cup of cocoa and get to wrapping!
